Promega UK Lumit Immunoassay Conversion Grants 2024 (Grant)

Terms and Conditions applicable to participation in the Grant

  1. The Grant will provide will award a Lumit Labelling Kit (Labelling Kit, reagent A/reagent B) OR a Lumit Immunoassay Cellular System Kit up to a value of £1,500 along with a contribution of up to £2,500 (maximum) towards the purchase of reagents required to facilitate the use of the Lumit immunoassay.
  2. The application period runs from Wednesday, 10 April 2024 until 17:30 (BST) Tuesday, 7 May 2024 (inclusive). All participants must provide an academic email address to be eligible for the Grant.
  3. There will be four winners who will be notified by email on or before Monday 30 May 2024.
  4. The winners will be selected based on merit and feasibility of their proposal. Participants should provide a detailed proposal to ensure judges can evaluate the proposal fairly.
  5. Promega UK's decisions regarding the allocation of the Grants is considered final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into once winners are announced.
  6. The judging panel of Promega specialists in this field will select the finalists who will be invited to a Teams interview in order to discuss their proposal. Participation in the interview is a requirement to be selected as one of the four winners. Interviews will be held in the week of Thursday 20 May 2024.
  7. Winners will need to commit to begin work on their immunoassay conversion within 30 days of notification that they have been awarded the Grant.
  8. Winners must provide protocol information and agree to promotion of that protocol by Promega UK via social media, Promega’s website and in press releases.
  9. The financial contribution towards relevant reagents (up to £2,500) will be reimbursed to the winners when Promega is in receipt of proof of purchase. The claim for this re-imbursement must be submitted by 31 October 2024 to be valid.
  10. Applications for the Grant are open to all academic researchers in the UK and Eire aged over 18.
  11. Employees of Promega UK, as well as members of their families, are excluded from entering. Promega UK reserves the right to exclude persons or organisations from participating in this Grant.
  12. Participation in the application for the Grant or awarding of the Grant does not constitute endorsement of the participant's research or protocols by Promega UK.
  13. Scientific data generated from the new protocol remains the intellectual property of the winner(s) and will not be shared by Promega UK unless specific permission is given by the winner(s) for an agreed reason.
  14. The Lumit Labelling Kit or Lumit Immunoassay Cellular System will be delivered to an academic address in the UK or Eire as agreed between each of the four winners and Promega UK.
  15. There is a maximum of one Grant award per winner, the Grant is made up of a Lumit Labelling Kit OR a Lumit Immunoassay Cellular Systems kit and a cash contribution towards necessary reagents and technical support.
  16. Payment of the whole Grant value in cash, exchange or transfer of rights to the Grant to third parties is excluded.It is the participant's responsibility to provide the correct email and postal address for notifications and delivery of products.
  17. Promega UK does not guarantee the correctness of the published names of the winners.
  18. Promega UK’s products are covered by the manufacturer's warranty unless other information is provided.
  19. Promega UK will not disclose any personal data of the participant to third parties other than necessary to enable the products to be delivered. Data will be held and utilised in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as stipulated on Promega’s website.
  20. Promega UK reserves the right to disqualify any participant reasonably believed to have breached, undermined or subverted in any way the legitimate operation of this Grant, whether by deceptive or wilful activity or otherwise.
  21. It is the responsibility of persons applying for the Grant to ensure that entering this Grant does not conflict with internal rules and regulations within their organisation. In particular, and without limiting the foregoing, he/she/they warrant that his/her/their employers have full knowledge of their actions and have consented thereto. Promega UK cannot be held responsible for any dispute within an organisation with regards to which individual should be allocated the Grant.
  22. By participating in this Grant, the contestant agrees to waive all rights to claim against Promega UK and its respective parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees, and agents in respect of any and all liability for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with the Grant including but not limited to the receipt, use, or misuse of any product supplied or any component thereof but excluding any death or personal injury caused by the negligence of Promega UK.
  23. Promega UK will not replace any lost or stolen products where there is a proof of delivery to the address supplied by the applicant.
  24. If, for any reason, the Grant is not capable of running as planned, including because of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures, force majeure, or any other cause beyond the control of Promega UK which may corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Grant, Promega UK reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Grant.
  25. The laws of England and Wales will apply to this Grant and the relevant courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to the Grant.
