Helix On-Site Stocking System

Promega is always looking to identify areas for development within the company, to reduce our carbon footprint even further and drive sustainable initiatives. One way Promega is delivering on sustainability and improving supply management is through our Helix Programme.
Helix is an on-site stocking inventory management system, providing laboratories with uninterrupted access to Promega products whilst reducing emissions through consolidated efficient restocking shipments, which then reduces packaging. Helix cabinets can be ambient, fridge or freezers and be located anywhere in a building.
Leveraging RFID technology allows customers to simply take product, with the Helix unit able to scan products to identify which ones are no longer in stock or have been taken.
Some of the key benefits include:
- Stock management carried out by Promega, including a full audit of consumables used, reducing time spent tracking and managing inventory.

Our Helix programme is contributing to Net Zero Emissions. Promega also purchases carbon credits to offset all greenhouse gas emissions from the Helix® program with 600 tons offset in 2020 by supporting the following projects:
- Blandin Improved Forest Management Project in Minnesota, United States
- Kibale Forest Restoration in Uganda.
Since 2010, the Helix® program has offset over 7,600 tons of carbon dioxide.
