The Maxwell® 16 system brings Personal Automation™ to low- to moderate-throughput automated DNA extraction from FFPE tissue sections, tissue biopsies or cells in amniotic fluid, CSF or urine. Using this tool, clinical laboratories can improve extraction efficiency while eliminating use of hazardous organic solvents and obtain sufficient yield from precious samples.

The Maxwell® 16 FFPE Plus LEV DNA Purification Kit is designed to extract high yields of DNA from FFPE tissue samples, with a protocol that allows for the option of a 1 hour proteinase-K incubation (for minimizing processing time), or an overnight incubation (for maximum yield).
Consistent Results
Legend: DNA was purified from human FFPE tissue sections (5 micron) and analyzed using the MSI Analysis System, Version 1.2 (Cat. #MD1641) on a capillary electrophoresis instrument.
DNA Virtually Free of PCR Inhibitors
Legend: DNA purified from FFPE sections (5 micron) from 3 different human tissues and quantified using real-time PCR. An internal PCR control (IPC) was amplified in all reactions indicating no PCR inhibitors present.
Purify from as little as 10 cells
Legend: DNA was purified from human cell lines added to CSF, amniotic fluid or urine. Human DNA quantified using the Plexor® HY System (Cat.# DC1000).
